The mission of the Community Environmental Health (CEH) Programs is to promote and protect the health of residents and visitors through a comprehensive series of preventive health programs. These programs consist of: Food Hygiene, Group Care, Mobile Home and Recreational Vehicle Parks, Biomedical Waste, Tanning, Medical Quality Assurance (MQA) and Body Piercing establishments.
Mobile Home & Recreational Vehicle Park | |

The Environmental Health Division of the Bay CHD inspects mobile home and recreational vehicle parks for compliance with Florida Statute 513 and 64E-15* Florida Administrative Code. Additionally, the Environmental Health Division performs plan reviews with property owners who were seeking information regarding rules and regulations pertaining to permitted parks. |

Tanning Beds | |

| The food service program ensures all food service facilities, such as schools (public and private), day care centers, nursing homes, hospital kitchens, detention facilities, civic-fraternal organization, movie theaters, residential facilities, bars and lounges, and foster homes maintain the sanitary standards set forth in 64E-11* Florida Administrative Code. | ![]() |

The facility program regulates all schools (public and private), day care centers, residential facilities, ICF's, ALF's, and foster homes, to ensure the safety and cleanliness. |
Biomedical Waste | |

Biomedical Waste inspections are conducted on facilities that generate, transport, store, or treat biomedical waste to ensure that the waste is properly handled to protect public health. Standards are set forth in 64E-16* Florida Administrative Code. |
Body Piercing Salons | |

The Environmental Health Section of the health department conducts annual inspections of Body Piercing Salons. There are facilities located in Bay, Gulf, Holmes, and Washington Counties. Inspections of these facilities are conducted as a joint venture between the Environmental Health Section & Nursing Division of the health department. This program is designed to check for cleanliness of the equipment and facility, as well as record keeping and sterile techniques. Standards are set forth in 64E-19* Florida Administrative Code. |
Medical Quality Assurance | |

In accordance with an agreement between the Department of Health's Medical Quality Assurance Division (MQA) and the Environmental Health Division, the staff of the Environmental Health Division inspects an average of 100 establishments annually. These establishments include Massage Establishments, Dental Labs, Electrolysis Establishments, and Optical Establishments. These facilities are inspected once each year to ensure they meet equipment, operational, and sanitary requirements of MQA codes. |
