Freedom 180 - Abstinence Education Project

Freedom 180, the Abstinence Education Project of the Bay County Health Department, was established in 2001.  It is currently funded by a federal TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) grant that is administered by the State of Florida.  The mission of the program is to make a positive difference in the lives of youth by promoting and teaching the message of abstinence until marriage in schools, churches and organizations throughout our community.  The project assists the Florida Department of Health in its effort to reduce teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases in youth.  Freedom 180 also holds community wide events through the year to assist in educating youth and parents about the benefits of abstinence until marriage.
